If you're unsure on what to set your daily step goal to, a great starting point is 10 000. Through various studies performed around the world, the average adult takes 3000-4000 per day. A 30-minute walk (LISS) can increase your steps by another 3000-4000! If you can't hit 10 000 per day, reduce to 8 000 and start there.
Try these tips to increase your daily steps!
- Take your pet for a walk.
- Catch up with your family & friends by going for a walk.
- Instead of sitting down during your kids/siblings sporting events/practices, go for a walk.
- Add music with a catchy beat to increase your speed & steps.
- Take the stairs instead of the lift/elevator.
- Park further away and walk the rest of the way.
- Go for a walk on your lunch break & take your one-on-one meetings outside.
