What is Yoga with Phyllicia?
Yoga with Phyllicia is a six-week program that has been designed to provide a base for yoga beginners. The classes will build slowly, from the ground up, to allow movement to be strong. Expect to challenge yourself by holding Vinyasa yoga poses, but also to find your moments of calm and relaxation! This program can be completed at home, outdoors, or wherever you feel most comfortable.
As the program progresses, you will focus on mastering more traditional Vinyasa poses, whilst also developing your strength, flexibility and balance. Breathing techniques and relaxation are at the heart of this program, to assist you in your Yoga journey.
This program is suitable for all experience levels. Starting from the foundations of breath, the classes are perfect for beginners as they build slowly, from the ground up, to allow your movements to be strong.
Phyllicia brings her strength, power and balance with calm energy, into her classes which allow you to build up some heat, achieve some challenging poses, and feel deeply relaxed.
What Equipment do I need to complete this program?
You will not need any equipment to complete Yoga with Phyllicia! This program can be completed in the comfort of your own-home, outdoors, or anywhere you have room to move!
You will only require the space of a yoga mat to complete these classes - and the yoga mat is optional.
How do the workouts work?
Yoga with Phyllicia is follow-along video style program. Its a 6-week program that involves 3 classes per week. Alongside these classes, you are also provided with weekly cardio (LISS) sessions and a rest day. The classes run between 30-45 minutes, focusing on a Vinyasa style of Yoga. Each sequence will flow into the next, so you don’t need to use your phone or click a button to progress!
What are the weekly goals?
In Yoga with Phyllicia, you will be provided with the following goals to work towards each week:
- 3 x Resistance classes
- 2-3 x Cardio sessions
- 1 x Recovery (Rest Day)
Your weekly resistance classes focus on the following;
- Full Body Class
- Stretch & Balance Class
- Dynamic Class
In addition to the weekly classes, Phyllicia also has eight on-demand classes for you to access at any time - which help you to improve your yoga technique.
What do the classes involve?
Each one of Phyllicia’s classes follows the same structure, which includes 4-6 sequences, to make up the entire 30-45 minute class. Each sequence includes a number of poses to populate a sequence of approximately 3-8 minutes in length.
You can expect each class to follow the same overview, tailored to the specific style of class you are completing:
- Opening Sequence
- Sun Salutations (completed on both sides)
- Standing Sequence 1 (completed on both sides)
- Standing Sequence 2 (completed on both sides)
- Floor Sequence
- Closing Sequence
Each class will have a Warm-up and Cool Down, which will be included within the sequences, and will be unique to each class and flow.
Phyllicia incorporates her signature poses and some traditional movements into her classes, focusing on strength, flexibility, and stillness.
