While it is common for most of us to want to see visible progress straight away on our fitness journeys, it’s important to understand there are no quick fixes when it comes to health and weight loss.
Progress will appear at different stages for each of us and will be dependent on a number of different lifestyle factors, so it is hard to say exactly when you will begin to notice results.
With this being said, there are a number of things you can do and look out for, to ensure you are keeping on track and working towards smashing your goals!
Setting specific goals for what you are hoping to achieve is a great technique to maintain motivation and to help measure progress. We suggest focusing on challenging your own personal bests and improving your fitness, rather than solely basing progress on your physical appearance - this will come with time and be different for everyone.
Another good way to ensure you are keeping track of results is to be accountable for monitoring your progress in ways that aren’t all dependant on a number on the scale. For instance, taking weekly progress photos can help you to track your progress and allow you to see changes that you may have missed.
While keeping track of physical change is important to many of us, the area that most people see dramatic change is within themselves. Really paying attention to how you are feeling after each week is a great way to see how your exercise routine is bettering everything from your energy levels, to your sleep and mood!
